Catherine Rodgers My current body of work revolves around the study of crowds.  When people band together, the group polarization that occurs can bring about good or bad outcomes.    Often, there is very little wisdom in crowds as like-minded folks put their heads together and their views become more narrow and extreme, i.e., Islamic terrorism or greedy Wall Streeters.  At other times, groupthink can bring about positive changes such as human rights and the downfall of apartheid.  I hope my work will start people thinking more and blindly believing less.    I work with oil and acrylic on board and canvas and I usually work on several bodies of work at the same time.  Currently, I am also continuing my exploration of interiors and the spaces where we spend our private lives.
